CHENNAI — Staff at a fictional office resolved a week-long scheduling dispute during a six-minute tea break, minutes after attending an hour-long meeting that ended with a plan to schedule another meeting.

The breakthrough reportedly occurred when someone asked a direct question and somebody else answered it. Neither participant used a slide deck.

“We solved it before the tea got cold. Please don’t tell management.”

‘We solved it before the tea got cold. Please don’t tell management,’ said an imaginary employee, fearing the tea stall would soon require calendar invitations.

Management has nevertheless learned of the result and announced a pilot programme to formalise informal conversations. Employees will be asked to submit their spontaneous thoughts twenty-four hours in advance.

The tea seller declined an invitation to become Head of Alignment. He already has a job where things get done.
