Poda Hair is an English-language satire publication rooted in Tamil Nadu. We turn everyday absurdities into news-shaped fiction.

A Tamil perspective. An open invitation.

You don’t need to live in Chennai to recognise a meeting about another meeting, a family with too many opinions, or an uncle with unlimited forwards. Our stories start here, but the nonsense travels.

Real context. Invented scenes.

Our articles are satire, not straight news. The original evergreen stories invent their events and characters. Our topical pieces draw on real reporting but invent the comic scenes, characters and dialogue. No invented quotation is presented as something a real official said. Illustrations are artwork, not documentary evidence.

The facts get their own box

Topical stories include a “What actually happened” section with source links, publication dates and verification limits. This labelled context and our weekly research reports are factual editorial material, not satire. We distinguish reporting from institutional announcements and do not treat search headlines as full verification.

Our source review is not independent field reporting. Proposals remain proposals; likely opening dates are not confirmed timetables; a press release is evidence of an announcement, not proof of its promised results. Material corrections or updates will carry a date.

Our straight-faced newspaper presentation is part of the joke. The satire labels aren’t. If you share a story or screenshot, keep its fictional context visible.

Who is Poda Dash?

Poda Dash is our collective editorial pen name, not a claim to a newsroom full of reporters. We publish without personal bylines because we want the work—not our identities—to be the focus.

A small publication, by design
